January 2013

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope your holidays were great for you all.

It is with sadness that I report I pulled all my traps. Last week the weatherman kept saying we were going to get slammed and I kind of laughed and said “oh yuh, I bet we are”. AS the week progressed I kept close track of the weather channel and sure enough it was not looking good. So, last Sunday I pulled everything and in hindsight I am glad I did. A couple of letters ago I begged for bad weather and now I am complaining. We went from green grass to eleven inches of snow Thursday and another six inches last night. I am never going to beg again. I love snow but a foot and a half in one week, come on!!! I am certainly glad that I did pull when I did. I am sure I will trap some more this winter but on a smaller line.

I will be shipping all fall fur on January 9, 2013 so if you want some shipped I need it by the 6th at the latest. This will have to be finished fur for shipping. I will still be accepting unfinished and finished fur for March shipment if you miss the first deadline.

Mark your calendars’ for January 18, 19, 20, 2013 for the Yankee Sportsmen’s Classic at The Champlain Valley Fair Grounds in Essex Jct., Vermont. Arrowhead Trapping Supply will be at this event again this year with most of your trapping needs. Please stop by and say “hi” if you are in the area, would love to hear about your adventures. My family and I will be there all weekend and would love to see you.

The Vermont Trappers Association will have their booth there again this year. I am still looking for some help with this booth. If you have some free time give me a call and anything will help. A couple of hours or all day will work. Its nothing stressful, just talking trapping all day, meeting fellow trappers, old friends and making new friends.

I also want to thank the folks who have sent me pictures from their line this year, both hard copies, emails and on facebook. I really enjoy seeing them all!

It’s a whopping 10 degrees out right now, time for another log on the fire. It’s cold outside but toasty here in the cabin. Good luck to all of those who still have traps out.
